A few months ago, I was travelling up north on holiday with a full car, pulled away from stationary hard after an hour and a half's driving, and at about 60 mph, the car started spluttering and lost power - enough that Golf 1.4 TSI Turbo Howling/Whine Noise at Low Speed/Revs – 04-10-2009, 04:34 PM. Since last 3-4 days, my car has developed another problem (or so it appears). At low speeds, it seems the engine is developing a sort of whine or howling noise (similar to siren or motor slowing down) after I release the gas pedal. I have a golf 2017 Auto with DSG gear box, my car gear box system started to glitch and sometimes it goes back to neutral while driving the car. Dashboard shows "depress gear pedal". Orange Engine sign also constantly showing on the dashboard now. Diagnostic check showed issue mechatronics. costing about 2000K for replacement.

The engine management light came up on my dash after normal driving a couple of weeks ago, drove normal but got it checked out, turned out to be.. 012296 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G40) P3008 - 000 - Signal Out Of Range - MIL ON
I think the 1.4tsi is a smooth, economical and surprisingly spritely unit. I have the 140hp/250Nm version and I love driving it. A short 15km journey from my son's place, 2 other passengers, light traffic and mostly 75% green traffic lights (only 3 red lights) at 60kph limit and a short stint of 3km at 80kph yielded 4.2L/100 (67mpg) by journeys
